New Landlords for Caradon Inn

A popular pub next to one of Cornwall’s most popular outdoor theatres has been taken over by new landlords.

The Caradon Inn is situated on the edge of Bodmin Moor on the main road between the market towns of Liskeard and Launceston, directly opposite the Sterts Amphitheatre.

Sterts runs a highly popular summer season of performances in its covered amphitheatre, with Winter and Spring entertainment taking place in the studio.

As well as attracting theatregoers, the new landlords are also looking forward to welcoming local people to a good community pub with traditional values, great freshly cooked food and well-kept real ales.

Steve and Carla Kirkham have recently returned from Spain where they had been living for 6 years but had been missing the family and the weather!  Prior to moving to Spain, Steve ran the Chip Shop Inn just 16 miles away, so the Caradon Inn was a great opportunity to return to the area.

The Kirkhams are really keen to ensure the pub is family friendly and are offering child sized portions from the main menu.  The enclosed pub garden which catches the daytime sunshine has large board games.

The pub serves a selection of real ales including Sharp’s Doom Bar, Sharp’s Own and a range of lagers, ciders, wines and soft drinks.

The menu is full of traditional pub favourites and it’s all freshly made at the pub and cooked to order at great value prices with dishes such as farmhouse sausages and creamy mash potato with onion gravy and a selection of seasonal vegetables, homemade steak and Doom Bar pie and rump steak with all the trimmings.

Freshly made desserts are always on offer including specials such as crumble and cake of the day or a treacle tart. Sunday Lunch is served between 12-4pm – perfect after a walk on the moor.

Pre-theatre dinner is also available before the show from a special menu with 2 courses at £10 and 3 courses £12.50 with a valid Sterts ticket.
