AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY BEER FESTIVALS IN CORNWALL

4 days, 4 pubs, 4 festivals…

Celebrating the August Bank Holiday in supreme style, a series of four Cornish pubs are set for an extravaganza of entertainment and real ales during a brilliant 4-day beer festival from Friday 26th – Monday 29th August.

Each one will host a range of live music and entertainment, providing a fabulous mix of food and beer for an unforgettable Bank Holiday Experience.

The Trevelyan Arms in Goldsithney is a classic child and dog-friendly pub located in the centre of the quaint village. Their Beer & Cider festival will see festivities kick-off with live music on the Friday night followed by a Casino Night with the Conker Club on Saturday. Sunday will be a more chilled out affair with contemporary Jazz and a barbecue, while Monday will feature Blue Grass Music, Flats & Sharps.

For Old World style surrounds, head to Pool (near Redruth) for The Plume of Feather’s fantastic beer fest. From 2pm on Saturday 27th, live music and a Hog Roast will be served followed by their traditional, freshly cooked Sunday roast the next day (3 sizes, from £5.45), offering a tasty choice of 3 meats. With scores of seating, a split-level bar and pool table, this historic pub is full of local character and charm, sitting proudly in the heart of Cornwall’s mining heritage.

Invitingly positioned on the moorland between St Ives and Penzance, the scenic Engine Inn in Nancledra will start their first ever beer festival with an exciting Open Mic night on Friday 26th. Saturday’s entertainment will spill from afternoon into evening with several sets, including Tom Dale at 2pm, Mind the Gap – 4pm and Area 51 from 9pm. Sunday will see a spectacular array of live music with 3 local singers who form Belerion singing Cornish songs from 3pm, 5pm Cobolts Rest live at 5pm and rounding off the day are Dirty Living Rhythm Band at 9pm – all alongside a heady host of Cornish real ales.

Still fresh from their first beer festival earlier in the year, the Fisherman’s Arms in Golant boasts a prime position on the beautiful banks of the River Fowey for a stunning setting – ideal for some Cornish beer swilling and live music courtesy of Cobalt Roots on Friday and Skeleton Crew on Saturday. Recently refurbished to the highest standard while maintaining its original 1826 character, the pub provides sheltered seating in the terraced beer garden overlooking the river.
